Midget / 16U–18U Hockey

Compete. Lead. Continue Developing.

PYH's older youth hockey programs provide opportunities for players to continue developing their skills, competing with teammates, and enjoying the game. At 16U–18U, the focus includes advanced hockey skills, game awareness, leadership, and representing Peabody Youth Hockey with pride.

About the Program

Continuing the Hockey Journey

Midget hockey brings together the skating, puck skills, team concepts, and competitive experience players have developed throughout their youth hockey careers. Players are challenged to execute at game speed, understand their responsibilities, and contribute to a competitive team environment.

PYH recognizes that older players have different goals. Some may wish to pursue additional hockey opportunities, while others simply want to continue competing, developing friendships, and enjoying the sport. Both are valuable parts of the youth hockey experience.

Guided by USA Hockey's American Development Model

USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM) emphasizes continued skill refinement, tactical understanding, appropriate physical preparation, recovery, and athlete responsibility through the 16U and 18U levels. Individual development remains important, even as players compete at higher game speeds. The ADM provides development guidance rather than PYH-specific practice or game schedules.
